This International Day of Forests, FSC ANZ celebrates the great work of Australia’s first ever FSC forest management certificate holder, HVP Plantations, in implementing our forest management standards down under.
As climate change concerns rise, demand for sustainable and ethically sourced goods grows. With this in mind, many corporations, businesses and brands are ramping up their eco-friendly advertising schemes to align with a ‘greener’ image.
FSC is calling for all stakeholders and technical experts to join the technical working group for the revision of the standard FSC-STD-50-002 (V1-0) - Requirements for promotional use of the FSC® trademarks by non-certificate holders. Stakeholders can also take part in parallel in a consultative forum on technical issues related to this revision.
In order to verify the applicability of the draft ecosystem services on the ground, FSC has begun new pilot tests that will continue to September 2017. The objective is to establish the steps required to demonstrate the impact that responsible forest management has on ecosystem services.
We certify forests big and small - The FSC Standard for Group Entities in Forest Management Groups (FSC-STD-30-005 V1-0) is scheduled to be revised in the third quarter of 2017.
