FSC International will soon initiate development of a Centralised National Risk Assessment (CNRA) for Australia against Controlled Wood Category 3: Wood from forests in which high conservation values are threatened from management activities.

FSC International will commission a consultant with relevant expertise to undertake the CNRA for Category 3. The consultant is required to engage local experts during the CNRA development process, and FSC Australia members and stakeholders are invited to either recommend local experts or express their interest in being engaged in this capacity.

The following expertise are sought:

a) Knowledge on the presence, distribution and/or threats to High Conservation Values within the national context (with a focus on forest ecosystems) obtained through conservation experience and education and/or relevant licenses; and

b) Expert knowledge of forest management practices within the national context obtained through experience and/or education and/or relevant licenses.

Please forward recommendations to FSC Australia’s Policy and Projects Manager, Jennifer Steinbach, at j.steinbach@au.fsc.org by 30 September 2016 and include the following information:

• name, contact details and relevant experience of local expert(s);
• your name and contact details (if recommending another individual).

Recommendations received by FSC Australia will be provided to FSC International for consideration.
