In the heart of Te Tauihu, OneFortyOne’s New Zealand forests are home to more than trees — they’re also a refuge for one of Aotearoa’s rarest species. The company has created a dedicated sanctuary for Powelliphanta hochstetteri consobrina, a giant carnivorous land snail found only on the upper slopes of the Bryant and Richmond ranges near Nelson.

Before it became a ceiling fan, the timber in Fanco’s Gaia was part of a living, breathing forest. That connection—to place, to process, to responsibility—is at the heart of Gaia’s design.
